The town is home to a wide array of craft shops and museums where you can browse to your heart's content. The local cafes offer the ideal setting in which to relax and admire the stunning surrounding landscape.

The region has a strong heritage and reminders of its colourful past can be seen all around. The remains of the 12th century Dunoon Castle take you back to a time when lords and ladies graced the land. Mary Queen of Scots is said to have stayed at the castle on her frequent visits to the area.

There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained including a visit to the Younger Botanical Gardens where you can explore the world famous collection of trees and shrubs, and take a walk down the Avenue of Giant Redwoods which can measure over 40 meters in height. On a pleasant day a pleasure cruise along the Firth of Forth is one of the best ways to enjoy this striking part of the country.
